BUILDING VALUE
THROUGH DESIGN.

My experience so far

My experience so far

I'm a senior designer at EPAM in Mexico City, working on corporate and B2B/B2C digital products. Outside of that, I take on freelance, work through my own studio, BJS Design. I hold the international UX-PM certificationfrom the UX Alliance (2019) and keep my skills current through continuous learning. Human-centered designis the constant across everything I work on.

How I Work

I work with established design methodologies: Design Thinking, Design Sprints, Double Diamond, JTBD, Lean UX, usability research. The principles below aren't a replacement for those. They're what experience has added on top: a personal framework for how design decisions hold up in real corporate environments.

  1. 01

Business numbers first, craft detail after.

    (churn, retention, cost-to-serve…)

A recommendation that can't be framed in terms the business already measures won't get funded, however solid the research behind it.

  2. 02

Map the system before designing the screen.

Most product problems are structural; redesigning the interface without fixing the architecture just relocates the friction.

  3. 03

Alignment is the method, not the meeting at the end.

Decks inform; workshops decide. Slower to set up, far faster to land.

  4. 04

Look outside the category and ask the user.

The most useful signals come from two places: adjacent industries, not competitors, and the users themselves. Weak signals, scenarios and listening to real people have shaped more of my decisions than benchmarking ever has.

  5. 05

The work should leave the team better than it found it.

A shipped product is the minimum; the real outcome is a team that got sharper doing it. Mentoring and critique aren't extracurricular; they're the part that compounds.

Brands I've collaborated with:

From global manufacturers to LATAM banks and carriers, plus startups, agencies and my own studio. Different scales, same approach.
